Why This Role Is Different

Not Another Door-to-Door Pitch.

You're not competing against every other solar rep on the block. You're solving a real, urgent problem homeowners already know they have — and we're the only team doing it at scale.

🎯
Real Mission

Hundreds of thousands of homeowners are stuck with broken or unmonitored solar after their installers went under. We find them and send you to close the fix.

💰
Uncapped Earnings

Commission structure with no ceiling. Your effort equals your income — and top reps are clearing $550K+. The opportunity is real and the comp reflects it.

📅
We Set. You Close.

Company-provided appointments put you in front of qualified homeowners from day one. Stack your own referrals on top and own your pipeline.

The Role

Solar Energy Consultant

You run the appointments — we generate them. Every homeowner you meet has a system that isn't performing, needs battery storage, or is being ignored by a company that no longer exists. Your job is to diagnose the problem and close the solution.

  • Run pre-set appointments with homeowners who need diagnostics, battery retrofits, or NEM upgrades
  • Generate additional leads through referrals and self-prospecting in your territory
  • Conduct energy audits and present customized solutions
  • Manage your pipeline across 15+ live markets — home base in California or Georgia, travel team expensed nationwide
  • Participate in ongoing sales training and leadership development
  • Personal vehicle required for local travel; travel expenses covered for out-of-market work
Compensation

Earn What You're Worth.

Commission-based earnings with no cap. First-year representatives who meet minimum performance standards earn $100K–$250K. The ceiling doesn't exist.

Year 1 Average (meeting minimums) $100,000 – $250,000
Top Performers — Last Year $550,000+
Pay Structure Commission-Based
Travel Expenses (out-of-market) Covered — Airfare, Lodging, Rental Car

The Industry

Solar Has a Serious
Service Problem.

Hundreds of thousands of homeowners paid for solar — and the company that installed it is gone. SunPower filed Chapter 11 in 2024 leaving 600,000+ customers without support. Titan Solar liquidated the same year. Sunnova filed in 2025. Sullivan Solar, Petersen Dean, Sungevity — all gone.

These homeowners have broken systems, missed savings, and no one to call. We're the company that calls them first.

  • 600,000+ SunPower customers left without service support (2024)
  • 150,000+ Titan Solar customers across 22 states — many in California
  • 500,000+ Sunnova customers in Chapter 11 as of 2025
  • 9,000+ Sullivan Solar customers in California alone
  • Problem is growing — not shrinking — as industry consolidates
  • Our data identifies these homeowners by address before we knock
The Company

Solar Review
Solar Review Corp

Founded in 2018 as a new solar installation company. As the industry shifted and competitors began failing, we pivoted — becoming the team homeowners call when their original installer disappears.

Today we specialize in system diagnostics, battery retrofits, monitoring, and new solar installations. Two established home markets and 15 live travel states — national scale, local execution.

  • Licensed: B, C-10, C-39, C-46 — California State Licensed
  • Tesla Certified — Powerwall 3 installations + Tesla Roof
  • Operates in SDG&E, SCE, and IID utility territories
  • Proprietary lead system — we identify orphaned accounts before outreach
  • Established ops partners for installations in both markets

What We're Looking For

This Role Isn't for Everyone.
That's the Point.

We're not looking for the loudest person in the room. We're looking for someone who's logical, personable, and tech-savvy enough to run our systems and close solutions — not just pitches.

The growth path is clear: rep → lead rep → market manager. We're expanding fast and promoting from within.

  • Logical thinker — you ask questions before you talk
  • People person — homeowners trust you within minutes
  • Tech-savvy — comfortable with CRMs, apps, and data
  • Self-managed — you own your schedule and your results
  • Coachable — willing to follow a proven system
  • Growth-oriented — rep → lead rep → market manager path

Rewards

What You Actually Earn.

Commission-only with no ceiling. Every product in our lineup generates a commission — diagnostics, monitoring, battery installs, upgrades, new solar. Stack them.

$2,000
Average Battery Commission
Per battery install. Customers in California and Georgia often qualify for subsidies that reduce their out-of-pocket cost — making the close easier, not harder.
$350/kW
SDCP Subsidy (California)
The San Diego Community Power subsidy covers up to $350 per kW of battery installed. 30% of California customers in our territory qualify. You sell the value — the program pays the discount.
25–65%
Customer Cost Reduction
State, federal, manufacturer, utility, and VPP incentives stack — customers in our markets can cut their out-of-pocket battery cost by 25–65%. Lower customer cost = easier close. You sell the value; the programs cover the discount.
4 Streams
Commission Sources
Diagnostic fees. Monitoring (monthly, lifetime). Battery retrofits. New solar. Set your own appointments in the field while running company-provided leads. Your pipeline, your pace.

Our door approach is different. We show up with data — we know the homeowner had solar installed by a company that went under. We're not pitching them on something they don't have. We're solving something they already know is broken. The conversation starts from a completely different place.

Qualifies for SDCP subsidy, ITC, and Tesla incentive programs
Risks

Be Honest With Yourself.

Commission-only isn't for everyone — and we'd rather tell you that now than have you find out on month two. If you need a guaranteed paycheck to feel stable, this isn't the right fit.

But if you're the kind of person who performs better when you control your own outcome — this structure rewards you more than any salary ever could.

  • Commission-only — no base salary, no hourly floor
  • Self-managed schedule — accountability is on you
  • Field sales — you'll be at doors, not behind a desk
  • Not every appointment closes — resilience required
  • Technical product — learning curve is real but short
  • Travel reps: 1 sale/trip minimum or expenses aren't covered

We use a proprietary database of orphaned solar accounts — homeowners whose installers went out of business. You'll have access to the Black Box canvass tool which routes you to the nearest uncontacted leads in your territory. Company-set appointments are also provided on top of your self-generated pipeline.
Commission is paid per closed deal. You'll need to submit a W-9 before your first payment. Commissions are processed through Solar Review Corp. Average battery install earns ~$2,000. Diagnostics, monitoring, and upgrades each carry their own commission rates covered in your rep agreement.
No. We train you on the product, the pitch, the market, and the tools from day one. The training is built into your portal and covers everything from Tesla Powerwall specs to how to read a utility bill. Sales experience is helpful — solar-specific experience is not required.
Local reps need a personal vehicle for territory coverage. Travel team reps have a rental car covered per trip. You do not need a commercial vehicle — a standard personal car works fine.
California and Georgia are our two established home markets. We're also live in 15 travel states: Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, West Virginia, Maine, South Carolina, and Georgia. Travel expenses are fully covered for qualifying reps.
Yes — majority part-time roles are available for local reps. This role pairs particularly well with other in-home sales positions (HVAC, roofing, windows & doors) since the customer profile and door approach are nearly identical. Talk to us about your current situation and we'll work out a realistic structure.
Rep → Lead Rep → Market Manager. We're opening new markets and need people who know the system to lead them. If you perform and want to grow, the path is clear — and it comes with higher commission splits and team overrides.
