Common Problems We Fix.

The installer moves on. Solar Review stays. Whether a system isn't performing, needs an upgrade, or it's time to add battery backup — this is the team Southern California homeowners call.

01
Your solar company is unresponsive?
System Diagnostics
Comprehensive performance audits including panel-level testing, inverter health checks, and production analysis.
02
Don't know what your system is producing?
Ongoing Monitoring
Monthly reports, real-time anomaly alerts, and utility billing cross-checks so nothing slips through.
03
You're not taking advantage of peak sellback rates?
Battery Retrofits
Battery systems designed and installed to maximize self-consumption, cut peak utility exposure, and keep your home running when the grid goes down. In most cases, the battery will not change or update your utility NEM status to the latest NEM 3.0.
04
Solar doesn't work during a blackout?
Backup Battery Implementation
Don't buy a generator when you can qualify for battery backup. Upon qualification, Solar Review assesses your home and gets you set up — and some homeowners pay $0 out of pocket using available subsidies and incentives.
05
Your solar system was built too small?
System Expansions
More panels, EV charging, or new components. Most homes can expand.
06
Need your roof replaced before reinstalling solar?
Remove, Reroof & Reinstall
We safely remove your system, coordinate your reroofing, then reinstall and recommission — preserving your warranties and NEM status.

What San Diego Solar Homeowners Need to Know

Rates are rising. Installers are closing. The rules changed. Here's what's happening — and what it means for your system.

⚡ SDG&E Rates · 2026

SDG&E Now Averaging 45¢/kWh — Among the Highest in the U.S.

The average San Diego household now pays nearly $200/month for electricity — over 6x what the same usage cost in 2009. A new "Base Services Charge" added in October 2025 means you're paying more regardless of how much you use. If your solar system isn't performing at full capacity, you're absorbing every cent of that increase.

⚠️ Installer News · 2024–2025

SunPower, Sunnova, Titan Solar — What Happened to Your Installer?

SunPower filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2024 — shutting down customer service, the mySunPower app, and warranty support. Sunnova and Titan Solar followed. Over 500,000 homeowners were left without support nationwide. If your installer is gone, your system still works — but you need a new service partner. That's exactly what we do.

☀️ Policy Update · NEM 3.0

NEM 3.0 Cut Solar Export Credits by 75% — Is Your Rate Protected?

Since April 2023, new solar customers earn dramatically less for power sent back to the grid under NEM 3.0. If you were installed before that date, your NEM 1.0 or NEM 2.0 rate is grandfathered and worth protecting. If you're on NEM 3.0, battery storage now makes more financial sense than ever — you keep your solar power instead of selling it cheap.

Why San Diego Homeowners Are Adding Batteries to Existing Solar

With peak rates above 45¢/kWh and NEM 3.0 reducing export value, storing your solar energy is now worth far more than sending it to the grid. A Tesla Powerwall 3 pays for itself faster in San Diego than almost anywhere in the country. California's SGIP rebate program can further offset the cost — and we handle the whole installation.

Book an Evaluation
Do you service systems installed by other companies?
Yes, that is Solar Review's specialty. Any system is serviced, including from companies that have gone out of business, across all major inverter brands.
Do I have to pay anything up front to qualify for a Battery Retrofit?
A lot of times when qualified, the owner pays little to no money out of pocket. This is based on eligible incentives.
How do I know if my system is underperforming?
Common signs: bills higher than promised, little change after going solar, or monitoring showing lower production than estimated. A diagnostic evaluation will give you a clear answer.
How does battery storage help under NEM 3.0?
NEM 3.0 reduced the value of grid exports. Storing your own solar energy is now far more valuable than selling it back. Upon qualification, battery storage installations can cost $0 using available subsidies — making storage both essential and accessible.
What does ongoing monitoring include?
Monthly performance summaries, real-time anomaly alerts, inverter health checks, and cross-referencing of production data against actual utility bills.
Which areas do you serve?
All of Southern California — Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties across all major utility territories.
